According to a study that AméricaEconomía Intelligence has been doing since 2009, Clínica Alemana de Santiago ranks second among the best medical care providers in the region for the third consecutive year.

The survey groups together financial and hospital quality data into an efficiency index that reflects how well organized a hospital is when it comes to providing highly complex, good quality services. Other indicators included in the 2011 Hospital Quality Index, which analyzed 45 of the best private and public hospitals in Latin America, are Patient Safety & Dignity, Human Capital, Capacity, Knowledge Management and Prestige.

As it did in 2009 and 2010, the Albert Einstein Hospital in Sao Paulo, Brazil, heads this years list, obtaining 94.05 points. Clínica Alemana de Santiago, Chile, follows closely in second place with 90.70 points.

Clínica Alemana Medical Director Dr. Claus Krebs indicates that, "Obtaining such a high ranking in an extremely demanding international survey for the third consecutive year is remarkable. At Clínica Alemana, we are understandably very proud of this achievement. However, we must not lose sight of our main objective, which is meeting our patients' expectations. Looking after their safety, providing them with quality care and making them feel welcome are the goals that must inspire us. Acknowledgments and awards are always very encouraging, but they should not become goals per se".
